Keeping It Fresh

Okay, so recently I have started watching "A Dose Of Buckley" videos on YouTube  and I have to say this guy is freaking hilarious. He was talking about parodies in one of videos and mentioned The Lonely Island. These guys know parody and satire! I decided to post their songs today because they are hilarious (and have some strong language). Each one features a celebrity and they make fun of music today and issues. Its pretty fantastic! I hope you enjoy these songs and please feel free to comment! You should probably skip the beginning nonsense of the second video.....

Okay, today's song is by a really popular boy band right now. I am going to say this right now, I am not a Directioner AT ALL. I just think this song is beautiful written (by Ed Sheeran so of course it is beautiful) and I have to hand it to the boys, they sang this song incredibly well. There is a lot of emotion in this song and it is pretty moving. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Road to Perdition. This song is absolutely lovely! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is by a man with an incredible voice, Lupe Fiasco and Guy Sebastian. Lupe Fiasco is usually known for songs with more rap in it, but this song has so much soul. I had to post this song because it is beautifully sung and there is so much power in his voice. Today's instrumental song is an orchestral piece called Pavane. I have played this song before on my cello, and I was really excited when I heard it was in The Dark Knight Rises. I thought the emotion in this song goes well with Fiasco's song. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is by an incredible singer, Olly Murs. His musical style is old-timey pop. I love this song because the music sounds like it could have come from the 50's, a hint of jazz and swing. Olly Murs also has slower, more intimate songs and more pop songs. I recommend listening to more of his music! Today's instrumental song is a karaoke version of Bill Haley and His Comets. This song is so much fun to listen to, with and without the vocals! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is a remix of a song by Morgan Page, featuring Tegan and Sara. I love the energy of this song and the fact that you can actually dance to this song. Morgan Page is really good, and I recommend listening to more of his music. Today's instrumental song is by deadmau5. Let's face it, he is incredible! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is by a lesser known band, The Bravery. They have a post punk/80's sound that really makes them stand out. I really like this song because of its blending of different sounds. It has an ethereal sound in the background with a rock chorus. Today's instrumental song is by Tiesto, but this is a remix done by Avicii. So basically, it is freaking amazing! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today's song is by an alternative rock group, but they have used elements of all kinds of genres. Incubus has been around for 20 years (longer than Linkin Park) and they still have a fantastic and engaging sound. I love how they use instruments that aren't associated with rock! Today's instrumental song is an amazing piece is performed by the group Escala. They really make this composition their own and keep it energized. I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!
