So for those of you who don't know, Daft Punk's new album was released today! I feel it is a necessity to post one of their new songs because it has been 8 years since they released a studio album. This whole album is so amazing because they really go back to the past and capture the old groovy sounds and also shows the strange way that those memories were stored in the brain (hence random access memories). Today's second song is by another artist who released a new album yesterday-30 Seconds to Mars. So instead of doing an instrumental song, I decided to post one of their new songs. I really recommend going and listening to both albums because they are phenomenal! I hope you enjoy the music and please feel free to comment!

Today I have some music for you that is by an artist I have been following for a little while now. Father John Misty seems to have broken through and is on a quiet but steady rise within the music world. What I really like about Father John Misty, is the depth he has both musically and lyrically. He's also a bit eclectic, which is always a plus! To kick us off, I want to talk about Father John Misty as a whole. He has taken on the artistic persona as someone who oddly fits a more folksy kind of sound. It is a neat progression because Father John Misty was a former member of a couple of indie bands, including Fleet Foxes. And with the latter band, we do get to hear some of that folk sound which seems to have translated over into Father John Misty's music. NF and Fight Club

Today I though I would get the ball rolling with some music by the artist known as NF. This is a guy who is a crazy sick rapper. I mean absolutely incredible. The style of rap in this song is one of my favorites. It is this syncopated but fast style of rapping, one that allows rappers to spit rhymes out and get in as much lyrical content as possible. Now I really love this style for two reasons. One, being able to hear the words and verses that the rapper writes is amazing. More often than not, songs like this have some sort of powerful meaning, and this song is definitely one of those. This is a song that talks about the music industry in general, about how music has changed and become a source of profit instead of art. Which is something that I can agree with, and the way this whole song is worded is absolutely fantastic. Jack Ü and Apex Rise

Since it is the beginning of the year, I thought I would take the time to bring light to extremely new groups to the game and also look back at some of the greatest songs of 2014. For today's song, I have music for you by the newly popular duo known as  Jack Ü.  Now,  Jack Ü has been around since late 2013, however, they did not gain traction and more popularity till this year, especially towards the end. So, I think it is okay to say that this duo fits in with the music of the month. For those of you who don't know,  Jack Ü consists of two incredibly talented DJ's- Skrillex and Diplo. While both of these DJ's have different areas of expertise and production, they have come together as  Jack Ü to create music that is out of this world. We get a lot of that trap sound during the drop from Diplo and a the beat style from Skrillex.
