Today I have some music for you by a band that did experience some fame within the past couple of years with one of their singles. And of course, they happen to be a boy band, but not your standard or stereotypical boy band. Rixton is an extremely underrated band in my opinion. And while they had one single out that got big, I definitely feel like there is so much more of their music which the world hasn't been able to appreciate. They normally have this generally pop centric tone. Now I have to say I think that their lead single was specifically geared towards the pop culture sound that people craved on the Top 40 list. But, Rixton is a band that is a lot deeper than that and way more talented than what we heard about a guy and his broken heart. This song by Rixton is simply incredible. Today I have a really fun and retro sound for you today! The moment I heard this song, I knew it would have to be featured right here. So, let's get our jam on! This song is by the pop band known as The Ivy. I have to say, I would be very surprised if a vast majority of you have heard of the band. Not because I have anything against the band, but because they weren't around until April of last year! The Ivy is jut now starting out, and my did they pick the right kind of single to do it with. For being a trio of young guys, it is incredibly refreshing and unique to hear them play songs that sound like they should becoming out of the 80s. This is a band that has taken on the pop rock idea of music from the classic 80s, and has turned it into a wonderfully modern song. Today I have some music for you that is a remix of a song that I have been unable to get out of my head. This song was originally performed by T.I. and Christina Aguilera, but this remix features just her voice. Skrux and Collin McLoughlin turned this original rap song into a beautifully done melodic dubstep tune. And when I say beautiful, I really do mean it. This song is so wonderfully pieced together and produced. Skrux and Collin  McLoughin  turned this song into a darker, more emotional track, and I love that. Normally, dubstep is devoid of emotion, appealing to being an energetic and hype genre. But this rendition takes a more intense and serious turn, something that makes you remember those harder moments in life. When I hear this song, I actually think of a more futuristic battle scene, when everything is dark and people are fighting. Today we are keeping up with some of the latest releases, with Majid Jordan and PARTYNEXTDOOR kicking things off. I think what makes this track absolutely brilliant, is how simple it is. There aren't complex rhythms or beats. There aren't any odd melody notes and musicality. There aren't even soaring notes and falsettos. There is so much simplicity in this song, that everything fits in together seamlessly. The tune is so smooth and fluid that it is very easy to get swept up in that world of music. That fluidity also makes itself known and felt from the beginning. There is nothing super crazy happening in the introduction of this song. It starts out with this soothing synth melody, and from there the others fill in. But the song all comes down to the overall musicality which can be found through out the song. Well, things have been a bit inconsistent with the bringing new music to the blog. But, things have finally calmed down some, and hopefully, I'll get to post a lot more! But today's song is by the up and coming artist Oddisee. This song is one of those endearingly quirky songs, with a really nice jazzy and R&B vibe to it. This is a sound that we don't hear often enough, but it is slowly starting to make its way into the popular stream of music. Now what makes this song so great is how it just oozes suaveness. Very few people remember that jazz is just as smooth as hip-hop, and the way this song uses jazz horns, gives the song a really great feel. This song is a great example of what modern day jazz could evolve into. When rap and hip hop seem to be taking over the industry, having that mixed in with something as old and vintage as jazz would be such an ideal mix of bringing the past to the present. Today is a day that the music community across the globe mourns. It has been such a hard year for music fans, especially rock fans. But today we have been dealt a blow so rough, I feel it in my heart. It was reported earlier today that the lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, passed away. And I know when people read the news and look up what happened, the realization of what happened is shocking. However, you may also notice the sheer number of people who have mentioned him, who are talking about him and paying homage and tribute to him. You may see the people who are writing about him, and thanking him for everything he has done. There are so many of us out there who owe so much to Linkin Park and Chester Bennington. For me, their music was all about finding strength. It was about facing all the inner demons that humanity must face whether we want to or not. Today I have some music for you that is certain to get many people very excited and very hyped up. Last night marked the premiere of the seventh season of Game of Thrones. I am a huge fan of the show, and can tell you that there are many others who are just as crazy about it. What this show offers is a saga of a story about political scheming, danger, and mystery. And to accompany this saga is one of the best scores I have ever heard.  Ramin Djawadi has done a lot of composing since he started on Game of Thrones. But there is something so incredibly unique and distinct about the way this show has been composed. The music reflects so much emotion and power. Every scene with an accompanying track has been enhanced ten fold because of Ramin Djawadi's compositions. His skill and ability are so incredible, as he knows how to capture moments and feelings with such perfection.
