Today I have some really great music for you from some phenomenal movies. This first song comes from the movie Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. This movie was an absolutely beautiful movie for many reasons. First of all, the entire movie is all about the human experience, and what it means to be a human. The movie starts out with the day to day job that most of us have. It begins with the story of a man and woman who work office jobs, behind a desk, only to come home to a lonely existence. But as the movie progresses, the characters evolve, learning more about themselves and learning that there is so much to offer the world and that there is even more to receive. Even when things go wrong, or the unexpected arises, we have to look forward and keep our spirits high. Today I have some chill and calming music for you. This song is by Opia, a duo out of the United States. Now this is a duo who has recently started making their way to the forefront. This is the first debut single from the R&B duo, and I have to say it is quite impressive. They show a mastery over the electronic and alternative side of R&B, and that is something that does not come easy. This song has really nice smooth and silky sounds, giving the song a completely relaxed and chilled out vibe. There is no sense of urgency or excessive energy. If anything, this song carries a little bit of a sensual vibe to it, and I am such a fan of that. This is a duo that shows us immense talent through this song. As a debut single, a lot rides on the way that the song goes over with the masses. And I have to say, I think this song has gone over extremely well. Today I have some music for you by a DJ that is quite the versatile one. DJ Snake is most known for his radio songs, the ones that are extremely hype and are used in any party situation. I mean the number of times I have been told to "turn down for what" is absolutely insane. But that energetic and wild sound is not something that DJ Snake is only a master of. He is a talented and very low key artist. When you hear the more popular songs by DJ Snake, we get those hyper and crazy songs, the kind of songs that get you ready to have a night you won't forget or rather, a night that you will forget. But the more underground sound that DJ Snake has is what I prefer in his repertoire of songs. His music can be very underrated and hidden in the shadows of his radio singles. Today I have some really great music for you out of France! I am so excited to share this song with you for a few reasons. One, it is a great song. Two, this is a style of music that is highly underrated and honestly not very well known. Three, the artist Disiz is one that is very interesting and has a lot to say about life and society and politics. Four, it is a very catchy song. So let's get started with the breakdown, shall we? So to start off, Disiz is a rapper out of Evry, France. And I love the fact that almost all of his music is rapped in French, because that is something that is not only really awesome sounding, but it also adds a lot more flavor and personality to the song. French is a great language in general to rap in because of this inherent gruffness to the way they speak. A lot of the pronunciations come from the throat, and that gives the song a lot more edge. Today was the day we celebrated the Grammys! For those of you who don't know, the Grammys is an award show in which the best and brightest of music in the past year, are honored on you behalf. This first Grammy winning artist is  a very interesting one because he likes to speak about politics. Kendrick Lamar is someone who is genuinely in it for the music. However, he also loves to point out social injustices and wrongdoings. By doing this kind of work and having that time to breathe, it is not easy having to wake up and get to work even though the last night was crazy. Now Kendrick Lamar is one of those rare artists who writes very controversial lyrics on controversial topics. Because we as a society have not done much in terms of making change and speaking out, Kendrick Lamar started with him being able to create this sense of well being. Hey everyone, back again! Today I have another round of songs that could make my list of the top 5 songs that have changed my life. This first song is by one of my favorite bands of all time, Anberlin. Now what makes this song so special to me, is that this is the first song by them that I have ever heard. And it swept me off my feet and blew me to the moon. I mean this rendition was so beautiful, and listening to this song is what opened my mind to music. Without Anberlin, I would have no idea what is is like to really feel a song and I would have never gotten into music.
