Today's song is a great one by Tiesto! Of course, being Tiesto, this is a great dance song with a really catchy hook. And I love the vocalist used for this song. This one has so much energy and its out of control! Its freaking fantastic! I love how once the chorus is done the first time there is this underlying fuzzy sound to support the vocals the second time the chorus comes around. This song definitely showcases the house style diversion Tiesto made a few years back. The thing about Tiesto is that while he is known mainly as a trance artist, he is very capable of delving into other subgenres of electronic music. Tiesto is also an artist who really enjoys vocal performances as part of his music. And I think that is one of the best things about him. Today I have some music for you by a band that has done a cover of a song by one of my favorite bands. DWNTWN has done an absolutely phenomenal job covering this song by The 1975. A lot of times covers can go really well or very terribly, but this cover surpasses the "really well" category. This cover is incredibly well done. The first thing that I noticed when I heard this was that the song is still true to the style of music that DWNTWN makes but also maintains the musical integrity of The 1975. The second thing I noticed was how they seemed to completely change the song and turned it into something very unique. This version of the song includes a lot more synthesizers and keyboard work to make it what it is. DWNTWN turned this 80's beat kind of song into something that has a very trance like and ethereal sound. Today I decided to post some hardcore electro music because its kind of freaking awesome. This first song is collaboration done by R3hab, Nervo, and Ummet Ozcan. This song has fantastic drops that lead into these cool synth sounds and a weirdly great beat. The vocals are nice and the entire background music is so solid and full. Definitely a good mix done by these three! Today's instrumental song is by Maddix and this song is severely sick. It moves from an intense electronic sound to a smooth trance feel with some house and then transitions back to sweet beats and this persistent energy. Today's song is by a very talented man who is widely known as playing the incredible Dr. House. Hugh Laurie has showcased both his acting and music skills throughout House and side projects. He has released an album of some of the best music to take us back the roots of our mainstream music. Laurie's style is that of the Harlem Renaissance and New Orleans jazz, and he does a tremendous job. It is very rare to hear music like this today, especially quality jazz that is performed in this manner. Hugh Laurie embodies that feel and genre, so naturally, his performances are going to be as spectacular and authentic. Obviously there are gong to be some differences, some modern twists, but Hugh Laurie keeps the integrity of the music and molds it into something that is very him. Today is kind of a short post. Why, you may ask? Because, Avengers: Age of Ultron has recently been released. And let me tell you, it was absolutely phenomenal! It is action packed, humorous and full of great acting, not to mention we get a very cool set of characters. Today I have some music for you by an artist that is quite full of surprises. Ellie Goulding is an extremely talented artist who has a large range of musical capabilities. But one of the things I love about her is that a lot of her music is low key and often not something that is heard commonly. She does have her normal pop songs, the ones that are played on the radio and heard in clubs. And then there are songs like this one. These are the songs that are so ethereal and transcendent, the kind of songs that have the ability to take you to another state of being. Ellie Goulding has a light and airy voice that soars above the music in a way that is spectacular. Ellie Goulding uses some intricate vocal work in this song to add some more depth and power to the overall sound. Of course you have her chorus and verse work, but we also get some glitchy vocals in the background. It has been an extremely long time since I have posted anything related to alternative rock and just plain good rock in general. So today, I have some music for you by a band that everyone seems to love. Imagine Dragons is a band that has delivered time and time again with singles and albums that we can listen to over again.This song in particular is off their latest album, a beautiful and spectacular new album that is absolutely powerful. This album sounds very much like Imagine Dragons' older work, but is still quite and evolutionary piece of work. There is more synth work involved with this album, and they took a little bit more of a transcendent path with this album. The one thing that always makes Imagine Dragons stand out is the ability they have to make a song have a darker beginning, but then turn it into something bright and wonderful and soul filling when the chorus hits.
