Hurts and Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part II

Image
It has been a very long time since I have posted a song by this duo. Hurts is one of my favorite musician groups. There is something very distinct about all of their songs. Even when the message is something happy or romantic, there is this melancholic sound that drips over everything. It is very interesting to hear that because many artists make songs that reflect one major emotion, one that connects to the song the most. But what Hurts does is reflect the range of emotions that we feel all the time. When things are jovial and great, there can still be a twinge of sadness we feel. When things are really bad, there is a chance at hope. This band so aptly describes the human condition in both their music and lyrics. This song in particular explores the desire to be in love and fall in love and want that elation that only being in love can bring. This song has a phenomenal instrumental sound to it. There is the normal synth sound that accompanies Hurts and that subtle gospel sound to it...

Tritonal, Paris Blohm, & Sterling Fox & The Bloody Beetroots

Image
Today I have some music for you by Tritonal and Paris Blohm. Both of these artists are forces to be reckoned with. They may be considered "new blood" in the world of electronic music, but these two definitely belong up there. This song is so incredibly wicked! This song was just so well produced and it has some of the sickest elements I have heard in a very long time. The opening of this song starts calmly and with a piano but then it turns into such a pumped up song. When people see video clips of electronic concert goers jumping and dancing and having a wild time, this song is something that could be playing in the background. It has all the elements of a fantastic trance song. The vocal verses are less intense and less electronic oriented. In this case, the piano and keyboard take the verses on. But then during the buildup, the vocals turn into a beautifully strong scream accompanied by synths and then leads up to a drop that makes you want to go wild. The composition and ...

Enrique Iglesias & Romeo Santos and P.S. I Love You

Image
Today I have some Latin music after a long time of not posting anything that sounds traditionally Latin. I heard this song a completely fell in love with it. While the song meaning is melancholy, the song itself is so beautiful and romantic sounding because it has that sweet traditional guitar and rhythm of Latin music. Latin music is very lovely and the lyrics are always about love and are very romantic even in sad songs. The way that bachata makes everything sound so kind and warm is just amazing. What is great about bachata is that it can be something very energizing or it can be like this song, something so intimate and charming. This song is a brilliant collaboration done by Enrique Iglesias and Romeo Santos. Both of these artists are phenomenal singers and they sound so wonderful together. What is really cool about this is that Enrique Iglesias is a Spaniard and Romeo Santos's blood is from Central America. You can hear the different and distinct styles with which each singer...

Manic Drive and Hansel & Gretel

Image
Today I have music for you by a band known as Manic Drive. This song has a really wicked sound to it because it captures the intensity of hard rock and a heavy house beat. This song had a great combination of the two of the and honestly I think this song sounds pretty darn bad ass. I feel like the main melody is pretty simple but the background adds so much to support the main tune. There is a point in the song where there is an electro/guitar solo and when you hear that one specific segment it becomes clear how important the instruments are to this song. I love the way this song was made because most of this song relies on the use of conventional band instruments and the idea of hard rock and maybe even a little bit of metal. Now I might get some flack for posting a song by a Christian rock group, but my intention is merely to spread around this sick music. If you are bothered by the religious affiliation of the people in this group, then focus on the lyrics instead. This song is all ...

Owl City & B.o.B and Toy Story 2

Image
Today I have music for you by two incredible artists, one a rapper and the other a phenomenal singer. B.o.B and Owl City have come together to create this brilliant song. There are two versions of this song, one which features the rap and another which does not. I chose the song with the rap because I find it to be much better than the all singing version. B.o.B. and Owl City sound so incredible as a duo for a song of this style. What is great is that we get a taste of both styles that these artists have to offer-one brings a great energy that really makes you want to fly high. The other, brings his electronic melodies with orchestral accompaniment and his lovely and soothing singing voice. This song really takes you on a journey and it follows the meaning of the song really well. Owl City has this incredibly unique style which features great synth work and to get a sound that is a cross of disco and European electronic music. Many of his songs have a giddy sound to it but not a negati...

Bombs & Bottles and The Great Gatsby

Image
Today I have music for you by an artist who goes by the stage name Bombs and Bottles. I really love his style and vocals and just the overall sound. Dear lord this man has a great voice! I absolutely love  his voice. There is such a smooth tone to his voice and there is an incredible R&B feel to his voice. If any of you have heard music from The Weekend, think of those vocals and you will get a picture of what Bombs and Bottles sounds like. His vocals are absolutely and completely gorgeous and I have to be honest, his voice stole me away. I feel like the easiest way to describe this song is indie R&B. It is a mix of electronic, hip hop, R&B, and even a little bit of rock, but it is so damn good. There isn't too much of one so that the song sounds horrific, but just enough of everything to make it unique. I could listen to this song all day long, it is that good. There are definite moments when you can hear the electronic nature of this song, especially in the chorus. Bu...

Dirty Heads and Edge Of Tomorrow

Image
Today I have music for you by a band with a pretty awesome sound called Dirty Heads. I honestly feel like this is what a mellowed out Linkin Park would sound like. This song has everything! It has a really catchy drum beat that acts like a heartbeat or thrum for the song. I love the introduction of the synths and keyboard during the main chorus and the build up to the chorus. This is similar to Linkin Park in the sense that they use electronic instruments and typical band instruments such as the guitar and drums.  This song has this cool and almost suave sound to it. There is a small elvel of charm that is present in this song, something that makes you want to keep coming back for more. Dirty Heads is actually a very impressive group. They are able to come up with songs like this one, songs with a psychedelic intensity but are also able to turn around and do some reggae. That's right, this band dabbles in every kind of genre, especially reggae. I think that is absolutely brilliant!...
