Keeping It Fresh

Today's song is by one of the biggest rock bands and hopefully a future rock legend, Linkin Park. The first time I heard this song, I was so incredibly moved by it. This whole album is so dark and tells the more personal story of Linkin Park and its members. I have to say, this is one of my favorite songs by them. This song in particular is more of a haunted ballad, and is one that I cannot shake because it resonated with me. This song strikes such a deep, emotional, and dark chord within everyone because we all wonder "What if?" at some point. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Black Hawk Down. Today's song is by a small little band called Cayucas. They have a very interesting style of music that is kind of hard to pinpoint. But, this song does have a really great energy and has a very bright sound to it. Its something that reminds me of the beach and ukuleles. Probably because they do use ukuleles, but still. This band is very vibrant and fresh and kind of returns to an older style of music while also being quite modern. Its a cute song that is just so great to listen to! Today's instrumental song is from the movie Soul Surfer. I know its kind of long, but you have to hear the whole thing. It is just so beautiful and the full effect needs to be heard throughout the entire song.

Today's song is by the band known as Magic Man. This song is very different in comparison to pretty much every other rock song out there. Why you may ask? Because this band has effectively and seamlessly combined elements of pop, rock, electronica, and awesomeness to create something so original and unique. If I heard this anywhere I would know what song it was in a heartbeat. Everything about this song, from the synth work to the spacey and energetic vocals, is just so phenomenal. I highly suggest you all check out their music because it is absolutely brilliant. Today's instrumental song is a version of an extremely popular Coldplay song. Today's song is by one of my favorite bands ever, 30 Seconds To Mars. Now I may have already posted the original version of this song, HOWEVER this is an incredible remixed version of the song. And I have to say, one of the greatest parts of this song is the bold move of even trying to remix it. Rock songs are harder to remix and very rarely done, but holy crap this is just phenomenal! There is just this raw epicness that comes with this remixed version, even more than what you get from listening to the normal version. Today's instrumental song is from one of the greatest movie trilogies and franchises, The Dark Knight. Not only was this movie absolutely genius and incredible, the soundtrack is indescribable and conveys every feeling in a way that is so powerful. Today's song is actually a new one by the band Neon Trees. I absolutely adore this song! The hook is so catchy and the way the whole song was written and produced is just wonderful. I love the 80's vibe in this song and its just got such a great energy to it that's not necessarily pumping but is still infectious. I also love how this song relies on rhythm a lot because that makes this song even better. This album is really good and I hope you all check it out when it is released! Today, I am posting the "last" song by one of the greatest emo/punk/hard rock bands of the age-My Chemical Romance. What I love about this song is that it retains their punk sound while also being melancholy. This song is like the farewell from the band, and as lead singer Gerard Way put it, a eulogy for the band. I really like what they did with this video because it clearly paints a picture of the dichotomy that is happening. There is so much celebration and happiness for what MCR has done and produced, but also sadness because they have finished. But true to their nature, this song is absolutely amazing. Today's instrumental song is from the movie Lone Survivor. While I have not seen this movie, I have only heard the greatest things about this movie and I can't wait to see it. Today's song is a really cool one out of South Africa by the band Kongos. There are so many awesome things happening in this song. For example the first sounds you hear is this really sick accordion work, and yes, these guys made the accordion look even cooler than any other musician out there has. I love the way they use the accordion and the tone of it. And then you hit the chorus which has these really strong vocals and you get the feel from the multiple voices with these sweet guitar licks and such a loud presence with the electric guitar. This song just kicks some major ass! Today's song is by the Beastie Boys, and is one of my favorite songs by them.
