Today's song is a new one by John Mayer. This song is a departure from his usual blusey sound and he really explores the folk side of things. I would even go as far as to say this has country to it! It is such a feel good song and his guitar work is absolutely incredible. As usual, John Mayer fails to disappoint us. This song is such a good one to listen to at anytime of the day. I just can't believe how incredible of a job he does with his guitar and it makes the song sound as amazing as it is. This is a win for Mayer! Today's song is by a new band called Smallpools. Now when I heard this song, the first thing that came to mind was Passion Pit. Both groups have very similar sounds. But what makes Smallpools different is a greater use of funky guitar sounds and more of an indie sound than pop. All in all, I think this is a great group and I seriously can't wait to hear more music from them! This is just some awesome feel-good music and the melodies are catchy while also having that other worldly feel. As in I can totally imagine myself driving down a highway with either the city lights above me at night or driving towards the Pacific in the sunset. Today's song is by the incredible, the great, Macklemore! I went to his concert earlier this evening, and holy shit that was quite a show! Out of all the concerts I have been to, this has got to be one of the most energetic, exciting, craziest performance. Everything about it was full of life and you could really feel his passion. Macklemore was hilarious and even had a couple costume changes, all of which were so perfect. And of course, he dazzled us with his rapping skills. You can hear his pain and can't help falling in love with the powerful lyrics and story he has to tell. If you ever get the honor and privilege to watch Macklemore, PLEASE GO. Today's song is an interesting one by singer Frank Turner. What I really like about this song is the beat and how he fits the lyrics to the beat. It is really cool and weird the way he does it because it isn't the way that most people organize and coordinate the lyrics and beat. Frank Turner's guitar work is also really great and is a good mix of a blusey sound and folk style music. The twang of the English folk sound completes the song and so do the great lyrics! Today's instrumental song is a cover of a Sublime song. This song follows the same pattern as the previous song with the slow beginning and then speeding up. Today's song is an old one by an actor you may recognize after watching this video. This is actually a really popular song that I had no idea was done by this actor before he became, well, him. I don't want to give away who it is only that his stage name is Marky Mark. Hopefully that doesn't give it all away. Today's instrumental song is actually used in the show Cold Case. Today's song is by a newer group out on the scene called Hunter Hunted. I really like their style because it is an indie sound and feel, but it is different. You can hear that difference which makes this duo so intriguing. I love the positive feel this group has and this song is general. This is a song that I wouldn't be surprised to see as the summer anthem for 2014, or as an anthem for anything really! Some people think it would also be perfect for the FIFA soundtrack. Today's song is a really interesting one. It is a mix of a slow R&B beat and a dubstep/electronic sound. How this works so well I have no idea, but it just does! This song is one that you could seriously chill out to because it is so weirdly awesome. I love the beats in this song and the way they smoothly transition between styles to create a flowing song.
